Honda Spree

Do you want to have the best products when it comes to bikes and scooters? One of them that are out in the market these days is the Honda Spree. This small scooter is among the basic and economical scooters that are usually bought by many consumers.

The Honda Spree has been manufactured by the Honda Company starting from year 1984 to 1987. Just like other scooters made by Honda, this scooter uses a belt drive having no multi-ratio variator which is powered by 2-stroke 50cc engine. This is moped legal which follows several states’ regulation, topping out at 30 miles per hour. It comes with its unique and tiny form which makes it perfect for everyday use. This is perfect for those individuals who want to slow go fast. It is a fun scooter to have because of its concept of being tiny. You could be able to see this around the globe which is popularly known as Nifty 50. It is also known as Eve or Smile only that they differ in a few features like the headlight and gauges.

Though, Honda Spree does not have aftermarket parts, the company has seen to it that they provide a wide range of accessories specifically for this scooter. Some states in the US like Iowa are with Honda’s spree specifically designed for these states. This is done to meet the 25mph-limit for mopeds.  But actually, in many states, their moped laws are implementing a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour. As is it said the Spree’s belt is not driven by a variator drive train which is typical to most scooters. This is what that makes Honda Spree unique. This scooter uses a belt drive which is single speed instead.

The Honda Spree of 1985 then was made with one change from its original model of 1984. The company had redesigned the Spree logo which was placed on the side panel. They made the logo much larger. The 1986 model was then released with its special version. It had a fine-tuned logo and a kick-starter. When we talk about the mechanical side of the Honda Spree, the company did make minor tunings. These had given the scooter a new look and function. Because of these also, the newer models, the ’86 and ’87, run faster. The company also had changed the piston shape, main jet size, ports, air fan, final drive gears, compression ratio, and intake.

The 1987 Honda Spree is with a glove box that is intended for storage of spare tools, a bottle of oil, and other small gadgets. This model is also with modified blinkers and dash design. This has been the last model for Honda Spree before they go into making new scooters. Definitely, it is still being purchased by lots of people for it is incredibly light and has a great mileage.
